The church is committed to building community among its membership through the use of small groups. We acknowledge that busy lifestyles, broken relationships, and the struggles of our lives often leave behind in their wake a feeling of isolation.
As Jesus practiced community through the gathering of the disciples into a ministry team, so our church believes in and practices the building of community through small groups. As God is in community as revealed in the Holy Trinity and God has expressed the importance of togetherness through the proclamation “it is not good for the man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18), so the church strives to connect people in meaningful relationships.

There are six different kinds of small groups in the church:

Prayer Groups – groups that meet for the purpose of prayer, both instruction and for intercession for the prayer list generated by the requests of the church family.

Covenant Groups - groups that meet weekly to “check-in” with one another through mutual accountability around a covenant written by the group. The covenant is inspired by the General Rule of Discipleship of John Wesley (“To witness to Jesus Christ in the world, and to follow his teachings through acts of compassion, justice, worship, and devotion under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.”)

Support Groups – groups that gather together for mutual support around a common interest or need.

Bible Study Groups – there a number of different kinds of Bible Study groups in the life of the church. For more information on these, go to the adult education page.

Fellowship Groups - whether young adults or families with children, often times various ministries will be formed to support persons who are at a certain stage in life. Our church supports any effort that brings people together with the purpose of friendship building and mutual support. We believe that a shared faith in Christ enhances any relationship with others and is a unique contribution that the church makes to the world.

Administrative Groups – our family is committed to do the work of the church with a spirit of collaboration, respecting the unique contributions of each team member, and appreciating what everyone brings to the ministry table.
