“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”

Michi Head, Senior Pastor

Rev. Michi Head grew up in the Bernice United Methodist Church. He received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech University and his Masters of Divinity Degree from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He was ordained Elder in Full Connection in the Louisiana Conference in 1992 and has served the Blackwater, St. Luke’s, and McGuire United Methodist Churches before becoming the Sr. Pastor at Jefferson in July of 2012. He has two adopted children from Guatemala, a son, Jordy, and daughter, Carly. Michi is an avid sports fan and golfer and a huge fan of LSU.

“I am very excited to be the new Sr. Pastor of the Jefferson UMC family. It is a church family that is rich in spirit, excitement, and commitment to sharing the love of Christ. Whether you would like to visit with us, are new to our congregation, or have been a member for a long time, I welcome the opportunity to share faith with you and all that being a part of Jefferson can mean to us and to the world.”

Stephen Zuber, Associate Pastor

Stephen Zuber was born in Illinois but grew up in Baton Rouge. He graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Microbiology at LSU. He earned his M.Div. from Asbury Theology Seminary with an emphasis in theology. Stephen and his wife then spent six years living in Shanghai, China, teaching high school and working with church communities in the city. Stephen’s ministry passions include discipleship, practically applying faith and theology in our daily lives, and seeing disinterested people get fired up about Jesus. Stephen also loves spending time with his wife Sarah, daughter Anna Belle, and son Simeon. He likes LSU sports, ultimate frisbee, and strategy games.

“My family and I are happy God has called us here. Jefferson is such a welcoming, excited community of faith. We can’t wait to see what God will do here next!”

Angie Roberson, Director of Children’s Education

The child is the purest form of Christian. They find enjoyment learning of Christ’s miracles and wonders of the Bible. Their faith is simple. I encourage all parents to explore our ministry.

John Sallinger, Director of Music

Singing for the Lord and His people has always been a motivating force in my faith experience.  Whenever I want to lift my spirits and feel God’s presence, I have only to sit down at the piano and open the hymnal to feel replenished. Such is the power of music and the Word!

Lidia Aucoin, Secretary

For over 20 years, I have had the privilege to serve this congregation’s various needs and and celebrate their many joys on a daily basis.
