Classes & Groups
“Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”
– Psalm 119:105
Your journey with Christ is taken one step at a time. When you are new to Christ, there is a lot to learn. For a long-time Christian, there is even more! The Bible and its teachings transform, based on one’s life experience. We can read a parable at a young age and discover one meaning, and then again years later, and our life experience has taught us to interpret it from another angle or perspective.
You are never too old or too young to start a study. Classes range from the basics to deeper levels of thought. Ask us which class is best for you.
Disciple Bible Study
Over six classes are available (two are currently in session) and vary from short-term to 32-week courses. Each one has a different theme. Days and time vary. It is required that you start with Disciple I to discover the Bible’s basics. Sessions begin in August.
Morning and evening classes are open to all. Some are Bible focused and others look at life situations. (see specific tab for details)
Wednesday Evening Studies
Throughout the year we offer classes after our WOW dinner. Check our newsletter to see our current offerings.
Men and Women Studies
We have an active women’s ministry, and an active United Methodist Men’s group. Check our calendar for our current listing of studies designed just for men or women. Right now, men meet Wednesdays at 6:30am for Bible study at CC’s on Bluebonnet. All welcome.
GROUPS
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.”
- Jeremiah 17:7
Today, society can dictate life. We provide activities for adults to fellowship and stay focused on being a Christian as the world pulls them in too many directions.
Senior Adults (SALT)
Our Senior group gets together for a Wednesday monthly luncheon at church or a restaurant. Keeping active and in fellowship is on way to support each other and to be aware of individual needs.
Couple’s Night Out (CNO)
Approximately once a month, we come together to support each other in our walk with Christ as a Christian couple, and to have fun. We go out to the movies, battle at Laser Tag or bowling, participate in a service project, or sometimes just stay at church. Babysitting for children is available.
Families in Faith
Being a mom or dad can bring a lot of pressure. This group comes together from time-to-time to relax and enjoy child-friendly activities. We have lunch together, a Christmas caroling party, fishing tournament, zoo trips and more.
Covenant Groups
Based on the ideals of Methodist founder, John Wesley, the covenant group brings people together to share, develop friendships, and find their place in the larger community. Each group determines their agenda, meeting place and time. We currently have two groups meeting, with more planned for the future.
Prayer Group
Tuesdays at 5:15pm, a group of individuals come to the parlor and pray for those in need in our community.
WOW (Welcome on Wednesdays)
Wednesday nights are hopping with a fellowship dinner and classes. Dinner is at 6pm. Love offering appreciated.
Alcoholics and Overeaters Anonymous
We are honored to host both groups at our church. Everyone is loved by Christ and deserves an opportunity to heal and find their place. Please see their sites for days and times.
Fourth Day Reunion
For those who have participated in Cursillo or Walk to Emmaus, reunion groups meet monthly to keep the spirit of your weekend alive.
