“He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’” Mark 10:14
Children & Youth
Jesus knew the importance of children and their relationship to Him. We offer ways for children to learn about God and His son; the Bible and its teachings; and prayer. Although it becomes a child’s decision to follow by being confirmed, we, the members of JUMC, make a promise to our children, to walk with them and provide guidance at every step.
Sunday School
Sunday mornings at 9:15am, we offer classes for toddlers through high schoolers. Children are grouped by grades and have a Bible-based curriculum.
- Toddlers have crafts in our nursery environment
- Pre K through third grade use an age appropriate study
- Fourth and fifth graders come together for study on Bible basics
- Sixth grade Confirmation Class – this year the children will be taught what it means to be responsible for God’s calling in their lives. In the Spring, students can be confirmed.*
- Junior and Senior High meet to discuss living as a Christian. Everyday situations are discussed so that Christ’s guidance is ever-present.
Vacation Bible School
This week-long summer adventure for kids through 6th grade is a highlight for children and adults, alike. We offer morning and afternoon sessions and split the children into preschool and elementary ages. In 2012, VBS is the week of 6/25-29. Forms will be online when available.

Wednesday Nights (6:30-7:30pm)
After our WOW dinner (6pm) we offer children’s choir and a study on the Parables.
Tweenagers (Pre Teens)
Our 4th, 5th and 6th graders come together regularly for activities, fellowship and mission projects. Parents are asked to be involved and be an example to our children. On Wednesdays at 6:30pm, join us for a book study on The Case for the Creator.
YOUTH
A relationship with Christ can be the backbone of a young adult’s future. During the college years, many young adults fall away from church. Through Youth group, we give them guidance to develop their own relationship with Jesus so that He may love them through whatever may come their way.
Sunday Fellowship
Our Junior and Senior high youth groups meet on Sunday evenings. This is a time of fellowship and Christian learning. Youth can learn from each other, as well as share personal experiences and receive advice from each other and our Youth Director. Each group has opportunities to attend retreats and mission trips throughout the year. Dinner is served by the parents each week.
Wednesday Fellowship
On Wednesdays, the Youth come together at 6:30pm, after a fellowship dinner. As a group, they share a devotional and then have an activity or study. They also serve our church by putting away tables and chairs.
Mission Trips
Annually, during the summer, our Youth will venture to serve a community in need. Having raised money throughout the year, our church sends them off with prayers and good wishes. Under the direction of a national youth service organization, the Youth spend the week making new relationships and becoming closer in their relationship with our Lord. We celebrate their return with a worship service where they share their inspirational stories. We also offer a local weekend mission trip to help our community. This Summer, the Youth travel to city of Orlando at the end of July.
